Minutes for OCTOBER 16, 2019 Meeting
Petey's II Restaurant
159th & LaGrange Rd. Orland park, illinois
Meeting started at 12:50 pm. In attendance were 11 members and four guests.
Guest Presenter: Joan Murphy RN, Ph.D., presented a workshop “Happiness Happens: It’s an Inside Job.” Ms. Murphy shared many stories and ideas about how to live a happy and fulfilled life with joy and laughter. Participants received a kindness coin, list of suggestions for happiness and a finger puppet.
Meeting opened with J. Lence report of IRTA convention (October 14 & 15, 2019) and material gathered from there.
Minutes from the May 15, 2019 meeting were read by T. Mikrut and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: (position still vacant) G. Spytek read bank account information. Expenditures to date $47.73. Balance as of October 16, 2019, $2,148.82.
Membership Report was given by G. Spytek. At this time there are 31 paid members for 2019. IRTA information brochures were passed out at area high schools during September.
New business: IRTA is using membership money to pay for recruiting new members and advertisements.
Old business: Election of new officers for Unit #91 will take place next year. Members should consider running for positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership. All positions are held for two years. J. Lence put together and donated two baskets from our Unit that were raffled at the IRTA convention.
All members in attendance took home a candy treat bag.
